*Position Summary*: We are seeking a dedicated OR Tech / Surgical Tech to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, ensuring patients' comfort and well-being.
*Responsibilities* * *Prepare Operating Room* – Set up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment before surgery begins. * *Assist During Surgery* – Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures while maintaining a sterile field. * *Maintain Sterility* – Ensure all tools and the environment remain sterile to prevent infections and contamination. * *Count Instruments and Supplies* – Accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure nothing is left inside the patient. * *Post-Operative Clean-Up* – Help with cleaning the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and preparing for the next procedure.
*Requirements* * *Education*: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training. * *Certification*: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (e.g., CST from NBSTSA) is often preferred or required. * *Experience*: Prior experience in an operating room or surgical setting is an advantage; some roles may require 1–2 years. * *Knowledge & Skills*: Strong understanding of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room procedures. * *Physical & Interpersonal Skills*: Ability to stand for long periods, lift/push equipment, and work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
