Job Description

Join APL as a Senior Engineer/Analyst, where you will lead innovative research and development efforts to enhance US military capabilities in ISRT. You'll work with advanced technologies, mentoring teams while making a significant impact on national defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to teams developing algorithms, mathematical-physical models, and prototype software for ISRT applications
  • Develop new signal processing, image processing, multi-sensor data fusion, and resource optimization techniques
  • Create and analyze new ISRT concepts and architectures
  • Lead field tests and experiments including planning, execution, and data analysis
  • Document and present team results to managers, sponsors, and at technical workshops and conferences

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related field
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in a technical field
  • Expertise in remote sensing, signal and image processing, data fusion, statistical analysis, mathematical optimization, pattern recognition, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
  • Skills in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java in Linux environments
  • Domain knowledge in ISR processes, systems, platforms, and sensors used by the US military
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience leading teams and complex technical efforts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Willingness to work in secure areas and travel to government sites
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI level clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related field
  • At least ten years of work experience in a relevant technical field
  • Active TS/SCI-level security clearance
