Get to Know Your Team: ~ UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab. Responsibilities he Phlebotomist functions as a laboratory professional who performs specimen collection techniques or specimen collection instructions that include; venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction. Qualifications Job Requirements:  High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience. Certification from nationally recognized agency. Accepted agencies and certifications include: National Heathcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (NHA) American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician: PBT (ASCP) American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician: RPT (AMT) National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician: NCPT (NCCT) American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician: CPT (ACA) Hospital Lab information system skills and strong customer service skills. Experience working in the clinical setting. Preferred Job Requirements: ~5+ years’ experience as a Phlebotomist.
