Your Impact:
As a Litigation Attorney at Marasco & Nesselbush, you will be empowered to:
- Take Ownership: Manage your own diverse caseload of personal injury and medical malpractice cases, from inception to resolution.
- Connect with Clients: Build strong client relationships through extensive interaction, providing compassionate guidance and clear communication throughout their legal journey.
- Drive Results: Strategically prepare compelling demands and skillfully negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of your clients.
- Be a Force in the Courtroom: Confidently represent and advocate for clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial.
- Sharpen Your Legal Acumen: Independently conduct in-depth legal research, interpret complex legal principles, and apply them effectively in motion practice and litigation strategy.
- Collaborate and Grow: Actively participate in weekly team meetings, contributing to case evaluations and strategic advancements while learning from experienced colleagues (with options for remote participation).
- Contribute to Complex Cases: Work alongside senior and junior attorneys and skilled paralegals on intricate medical negligence and serious injury litigation (leveraging both in-office collaboration and remote tools).
- Experience Full Case Lifecycle: Be integrally involved in all stages of client representation, from initial intake and office conferences to thorough case development, persuasive demand preparation, strategic negotiation, and ultimate resolution (with flexibility in how certain tasks are accomplished).
What You Bring to the Team:
- Proven Experience: Five or more years of demonstrable experience in litigation.
- Client-Centric Approach: A genuine commitment to prioritizing both external and internal client needs, responding promptly and effectively to their inquiries.
- Specialized Litigation Expertise: Strong experience in Personal Injury Litigation is essential. Experience in Complex Litigation and Medical Malpractice Litigation is highly valued.
- Adaptability & Efficiency: The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage your workload in a hybrid setting.
- Academic Excellence: Strong academic credentials that reflect a solid foundation in legal principles.
- Analytical Prowess: Advanced analytical skills to dissect complex legal and factual issues.
- Exceptional Organizational Skills: Strong time management skills to effectively manage a demanding caseload and meet deadlines, with the added responsibility of self-management in a hybrid environment.
- Communication Mastery: Excellent written and oral communication skills to articulate legal arguments and interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and the court (both in-person and remotely).
- Research & Writing Excellence: Superior legal research and writing skills to produce high-quality legal documents.
- Professional Standing: Full licensure to practice law in Rhode Island is required. Licensing in Massachusetts and/or Connecticut is a significant plus.
