ConGlobal is seeking a skilled Chassis Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair intermodal chassis to ensure safety and operational standards, while enjoying competitive pay and great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis, including braking systems, lights, suspensions, landing gear, tires, and structural components
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on chassis and related trailer equipment
Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT inspections
Weld, cut, and fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairs
Complete accurate repair documentation, work orders, and inspection forms
Operate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations, company standards, and safety procedures
Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely and effective repairs
Assist with yard moves or minor container repairs as needed
Required Qualifications
Experience in chassis/trailer repair and maintenance
Knowledge of brake systems, lights, tires, and framework
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
Valid driver’s license
Must have basic set of hand tools
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening

Basic welding skills
Previous experience working in a Depot, port, terminal, or intermodal setting
Basic electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
Safety-conscious and detail-oriented
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
