Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician and ensure the efficiency of our outside plant facilities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and constructing vital infrastructure, using your skills to keep our network running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, and buried cables
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles of varying gross weights to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles and working aloft
Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as determined by business needs
Required Qualifications
Valid state drivers license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
