As a Plant Manager at Newport Meat Company, you will lead the facility operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while managing budgets and developing staff. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance and compliance within the food production sector.
Key Responsibilities
Facility leadership and general management activities
P&L responsibility through creating and managing budgets
Develop processes for stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity
Ensure compliance with health/safety regulations
Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing associates
Create and adjust department activities, policies, and procedures
Write and adjust Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Lead Facility teams on Gemba walks and manage solutions
Analyze and propose solutions to operational issues
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Develop key metrics and indices for improvement
Serve as Facility spokesperson for inquiries
Participate in company meetings for business development
Maintain high quality and safety standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Agriculture preferred
Minimum 10 years plant leadership in food production, manufacturing, costing, and distribution experience
Preferred Qualifications
Financial responsibility
Increasing leadership history
Great verbal and written communication skills
Lean Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and Outlook
