Location: Concord, MA
Schedule: Day Shift, 7a-730p | 48 hour per week schedule is an option - pay package change would apply
Duration: 13 weeks | Every other weekend and holiday rotations
Important: Applicants can be local or travelers – pay rate changes will apply
Key Responsibilities:
• Assists with patient transport and transfer within department and hospital
• Administers Oxygen via nasal canula, NRB, and BVM
• Applies NIBP, ECG electrodes (performs ECGs), pulse oximetry and end tidal CO2 for central monitoring of patients
• Assists with responding to patient call lights and/or family requests and refers appropriately
• Assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills when assisting with nursing care activities as directed by licensed nursing personnel.
• Performs duties generally supportive to the activities of daily living for patients, which do not require nursing assessment skills during their performance
• Performs unit related tasks as assigned by the Nurse Director or designee
• Attends appropriate in service and educational programs commensurate with job responsibilities
• Floats to various units, as requested
• Accepts assignments under the direction from the Charge RN or designee.
• Immediately reports changes in patient condition to primary care RN
• Completes assignments and demonstrates ability to adapt to changes in workload
• Accurately obtains, documents and reports vital signs and rechecks as needed. Reports abnormal findings to primary RN or Charge RN
• Accurately measures and documents intake and output as needed
• Performs capillary blood glucose testing utilizing proper technique and equipment document results and reports abnormal results to RN
• Participates in unit/hospital projects that seek to improve patient care.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• AHA BLS certification required
• CNA license preferred
• Hospital acute care experience required
