The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is seeking a full-time Staffing Coordinator to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Staffing Coordinator will play a crucial role in the successful staffing of our concessions team by recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing hourly team members.

 

This position requires a strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA), excellent communication, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate and maintain staff schedules for union employees across the concessions department for all arena events.
  • Monitor call-ins, shift changes, and replacements to ensure proper event coverage.
  • Act as liaison between department managers and union workforce to relay scheduling information, address availability, and resolve basic staffing conflicts.
  • Ensure staffing assignments comply with collective bargaining agreements, including but not limited to: seniority, shift bidding, overtime rules, and guaranteed hours.
  • Work closely with HR and Operations to understand event staffing needs and adjust accordingly.
  • Track time and attendance and assist with payroll processes, verifying hours worked against schedules.
  • Assist in on-boarding and orientation of new union employees, including documentation and union registration requirements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of schedules, absences, substitutions, and communications.
  • Escalate grievances, scheduling disputes, or policy concerns to Management.
  • Support operational leadership during events to ensure smooth check-in/out and last-minute adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

More about you

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in scheduling or coordination, preferably in a unionized environment or large-scale events operation.
  • Familiarity with union rules, CBAs, and scheduling procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse union workforce and management team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, particularly during live events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling/timekeeping software
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedule.
  • Prior experience in arena, stadium, or large venue operations.
  • Knowledge of applicable labor laws and union environments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) a plus.
  • Conflict resolution or labor relations exposure a strong asset.
