Job Description

Join Sysco as a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician I, where you'll gain hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing our fleet vehicles. Your role will involve learning to perform essential inspections and repairs to enhance vehicle reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance
Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles
Learn to perform quality maintenance repairs under supervision
Address driver vehicle inspection report write-ups
Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions per manufacturer specifications
Document all work performed accurately
Develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Current and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred)
Basic knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components
Basic knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems
Basic computer skills and knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school
Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
ASE certifications – Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks
609 HVAC Certification
Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software
