Join Zen Educate as a Teaching Assistant focused on special education, where you'll support diverse learners and gain valuable experience in a mission-driven school community. This role involves classroom assistance, implementing behavior plans, and providing individualized support to foster student engagement and success.
Key Responsibilities
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide one-on-one or small group support using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies
Collaborate with teachers to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
Communicate with teachers, parents, and staff for effective student support
Assist with personal care or hygiene as needed
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations
English proficiency
U.S. work authorization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Special Education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors
ABA Therapy experience
Behavior Technician Experience
Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies
CPR and First Aid certification
CPI or Pro Act Training
