Key Responsibilities
Provide expert clinical guidance and coordinate patient care quality initiatives
Assess patients, treat injuries and ailments, and develop appropriate diagnosis
Formulate treatment plans and prescribe medications as necessary
Maintain detailed records of patients' health care plans
Counsel patients and family members about self-management of health issues
Conduct research into area of specialty to improve patient care
Required Qualifications
Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program
Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances
Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing preferred
Demonstrated current competence in provision of care for an adequate volume of patients
