Job Overview

We are seeking three skilled and dedicated NICU RN Travelers for an 8-week RAPID RESPONSE travel nurse contract at Medical City Dallas Hospital, a high-volume Level III NICU with 108 beds. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to neonates from 27 weeks gestation and above, including surgical, cardiac, and intubated patients. This role requires strong clinical expertise in central lines, respiratory management, and preemie care in a fast-paced, technology-rich environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-acuity neonatal care in a 108-bed NICU with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:4.
  • Manage preemies (28 weeks and above), central lines, respiratory support up to and including intubated patients, surgical patients, cardiac patients, trach infants, and Broviacs.
  • Perform or assist with procedures including central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations.
  • Utilize equipment such as nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes.
  • Document using CPN and Meditech EMR.
  • Float first to PICU, Pediatrics, or CICU (patients up to 2 years old).
  • Collaborate with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Texas or Compact RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Level III NICU experience.
  • Experience with preemies (28 weeks+), central line management, respiratory management (including intubated patients), surgical and cardiac neonates, trach infants, and Broviacs.
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP.
  • Ability to work 4x12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • NO RTO or special scheduling.

Preferred:

  • Experience with advanced neonatal procedures and high-acuity cases.
Schedule
  • 48 hours per week guaranteed, consisting of four 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required.
  • Contract length: 8 weeks.
  • Scrub color: Royal blue.
