Join Dell Medical School as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatric Neurosurgery, where you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to pediatric patients. This role combines clinical responsibilities with administrative tasks, contributing to the growth of pediatric neurosurgery services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses in the neurosurgical service
Oversee and prepare patient clinical records for outpatient consultations
Conduct health history and physical assessments of pediatric patients
Coordinate preoperative evaluations for surgical patients
Manage inpatient care under the supervision of neurosurgery faculty
Evaluate patients for routine post-op care and manage complications
Direct communications between healthcare team and patients/families
Participate in clinical trials and research projects
Assist in administrative duties such as staff training and budget planning
Participate in the education of medical staff and students
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program or Physician Assistant's program
Active RN and APRN license in Texas or PA license in Texas
Active board certification as an Acute Care Pediatric NP or PA
Active DEA license or ability to apply for one
Current CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in pediatric neurosurgical or related surgical practice
Experience with large research projects and clinical trials
