Key Responsibilities
Implements treatment plans and programs focusing on functional outcomes
Delivers specialized individual and group occupational therapy instruction as mandated in students’ IEPs
Collects data and completes reports regarding student goals and progress
Consults with other professionals on the student's treatment team
Assesses and documents each student’s progress
Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals for each student
Provides parent and caregiver support and education
Attends school-related meetings
Ensures a suitable learning environment
Provides screenings and evaluations for skilled occupational therapy intervention
Supervises COTA(s) as needed
Communicates with schools and families for therapy referrals
Follows safety guidelines for functional mobility
Completes documentation to maintain quality of therapy records
Participates in training programs for students and staff
Performs other related duties as required
Required Qualifications
Appropriate State License
Bachelor’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
Current CPR Certification
