In addition to lifeguard and swim lesson duties, this position assists the aquatic director with scheduling, hiring, training, and supervising all staff. Assists recruiting, hiring, training and supervising aquatic staff including lifeguards, swim instructors, and First Aid/CPR instructors Oversees development and delivery of quality aquatics programs including safety around water, swim lessons and lifeguarding Assist the Senior Aquatics Director in planning and conducting monthly in-services Assist the Senior Aquatics Director in conducting regular lifeguard audits and pool emergency drills Assist in training staff Keep inventory of pool supplies and notify Senior Aquatics Director when items need to be ordered Assist in running community trainings such as CPR/AED and babysitting Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values Shifts may vary, but must be available Monday-Friday and weekends) Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for a water rescue Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations Exposure to indoor or outdoor elements The YMCA of Greater Louisville is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
