As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide essential treatments to patients, evaluating their needs and applying appropriate therapies to improve their function. You will also engage in interdisciplinary education and support the clinical education of students, making a significant impact on patient care and community health.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient’s symptoms and medical status
Treats patients using appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Educates patients and families in home exercise programs
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
Fosters communication with referring physicians regarding patient care
Submits charges accurately and consistently
Supervises affiliated students
Attends continuing education courses
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Preferred Qualifications
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic personal computer skills in Windows programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
Reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites
