Job Description

The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the facilities for a diverse real estate portfolio across New York City. You will lead teams, ensure compliance with safety standards, and drive operational efficiency through effective metrics and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for all agency properties across five NYC boroughs
  • Monitor and manage area managers and maintenance teams
  • Ensure timely resolution of maintenance tickets
  • Collaborate with vendors for complex maintenance issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Develop and implement performance metrics for property operations
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years working as a tradesperson
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams
  • Verifiable experience with technical building systems
  • Proven understanding of maintenance operations and vendor management
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
  • FDNY licenses such as an F80
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
