• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,590 - $1,710
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Scrubs: Caribbean blue (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in IMC/Cardiac Stepdown nursing jobs
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required
• Active RN license (Maryland or compact state)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS (required)
• Clinical skills: chest tubes, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, IV infusions
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical diagnoses, including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and post-surgical cases
• Perform and manage central line care, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, and cardiac monitoring
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips (non-titratable)
• Start and maintain IVs, administer oxygen therapies, and provide pre/post hemodialysis management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Participate in weekend coverage as directed by unit operational needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
