Job Description
ATC Healthcare Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical-Surgical Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract assignment in Grand Island, NE. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a critical care environment, working alongside a supportive medical team. The ideal candidate is experienced, adaptable, and committed to excellence in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the MS Cardiac ICU.
• Monitor, assess, and record patient conditions, including cardiac rhythms and vital signs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life-support interventions in compliance with physician orders and facility protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility standards and regulations.
• Adhere to infection control practices and uphold the highest standards of patient safety.
Qualifications
• Current and valid RN license (state of Nebraska or compact license).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac ICU or similar critical care setting preferred.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Must meet health compliance requirements, including COVID vaccination and recent PPD test or Chest X-Ray.
• Must successfully pass background check(s) and drug screening.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
