Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and make a profound impact on animal welfare. You'll lead a dedicated team to provide high-quality veterinary care, support underserved communities, and foster a culture of compassion and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and coaching
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
Provide preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas
Guide direct reports to write and fulfill annual goals
Participate in veterinary medicine rounds and meetings
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
