Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Student Medical Assistant, where you'll play a key role in patient care by assisting with various medical tasks in a collaborative environment. You'll ensure a smooth patient experience and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and records
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly with doctors and patients
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of medical assisting experience
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to work well within a team
