Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician and ensure our outside plant facilities operate at maximum efficiency. You'll be responsible for construction, maintenance, and ensuring the reliability of our network while enjoying a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block and house cables
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, and lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
