Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit
• Location: Detroit, MI 48236 (Detroit nursing jobs)
• Shift: Night shifts (3x12 hour shifts per week)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel
• Start Date: ASAP
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1440-$1550

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan RN jobs)
• BLS certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care according to established care plans
• Supervise and collaborate with Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Conduct systematic assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and functional needs
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Provide patient and family education and counseling
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team meetings and rehabilitation goal planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and handle emergency situations
• Document care, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely
• Promote safety, infection control, and continuous quality improvement in the Med/Surg unit
