Position: L&D RN – Family Birthing Center
Shift: 3x12s Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Schedule: Every other weekend, first to float
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks 📋 Job Details
- Setting: Acute – Family Birthing Center
- Unit Beds: L&D – 4 beds, Mother-Baby – 8 beds
- Certifications Required:
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN AFM)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent L&D
- Charting System: Cerner
- Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 1:2 (1:1 during active delivery)
- Mother-Baby: 1:4 (couplets)
- Common Diagnoses:
- Term/preterm labor, couplets, standard GYN patients
- Newborns on O2 or IV antibiotics
- Transfers <34 weeks gestation
🚨 Additional Notes
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Orientation: 2–3 floor days with preceptor
- No Self-Scheduling: Schedules posted 6 weeks in advance
- Block Scheduling: Generally not available
- Resources: Limited at night – must be confident in emergencies and working independently
- Scrubs: Provided by facility
- Support: No nurse aides or IV team; RT available 24/7
- Floating: May float between L&D and MB, but not to other units
