Unit Description:

64 Bed Emergency Department with hallway utilization, 75 bays which includes holds and pediatrics. Comfortable and proficient with caring for critically ill patients, behavioral health patients, and/or hold patients. Hold patients rarely include ICU and are primarily obs/acute inpatient admits. Average visits daily. Years of experience: 2 Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS RTO: no greater than 1 week Weekend requirement: every other (Sat/Sun) Ratio: 4:1, 5:1 Scrub Color: Navy Blue Charting System: Cerner

Additional Information

Performs patient assessment, determines priority of care and provides any immediate interventions, analyzes assessment data, formulates and implements plan of care and evaluates for effectiveness in collaboration with medical staff and in accordance with the policies and procedures of client Health Network.

Weekend : Must be available to work weekends

Float Requirements : within specialty, possibly to ED hold.

Holiday : Typically Mullica Hill does not schedule contractors on Holidays in the ED but can change due to census.

RTO : no more than 3 days accepted.

Education & Experience :

Three (3) years of recent ED experience required.

BSN

Travel experience required (completed at least one contract assignment)

Certification/Licensure :

Current licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

American Heart Association BLS required.

American Heart Association ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

American Heart Association PALS required within 6 months of hire.

NIHSS

Critical Care Course within 1 year (or 2 years CC experience or current CEN).

Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Courses taught by the Emergency Nurses Association within 12 months of initial assignment or followed by a minimum of 8 contact hours of education every two (2) years in trauma assessment, intervention, and stabilization.

National Certification in specialty area preferred.

Call off:

• Client may cancel (call-off) up to one (1) shift per two week period without paying for the cancelled hours.

First day instructions(FDI):

• FDI are emailed directly by the hospital. Please expect 3 emails on the Friday before Monday start date. Please be sure to look in the junk folder as well – emails are sent usually around 2:00 pm on Friday.
• Monday is a virtual day - Teams call starts around 8:30 - 9 am. Invite/link sent via email. After the Teams meeting, continue the day with 'at your pace' modules sent by the facility.
• Badge appointment is emailed by the facility to issue the badge and review policy/procedures. The ID badge is very important to obtain prior to Orientation Shift. This is how you will clock in and out – so you can be paid accurately.
• Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – orientation classes are scheduled ONSITE 1-4 hours long in early afternoon and details are sent after Monday meeting is completed. These are MUST attend and cannot be rescheduled or missed- you will take the end of class assignment which is required to schedule the orientation shift.
• Orientation shift - Fri/Sat/Sun shift which will be at the time of the shift hired for and schedule will be made available after Tue/Wed/Thur orientation classes have been completed.
• The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment. Please share your POCT class date with us once received and remember to attend.
• You must be available for the full 7 days of the first week for Orientation. No special scheduling is permitted for orientation. If you cannot attend or miss any part of the full orientation the offer will be rescinded. #TB_HC
