Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support a team dedicated to providing quality veterinary care in underserved communities. You'll lead, train, and mentor other veterinarians, ensuring the best care for animals while fostering a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule staff veterinarians and per diems for optimal coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification (required within 60 days of hire)
