MSA has a new opportunity for a Project Manager - Transporation (Roads) in either our Des Moines or Cedar Rapids IA offices. This dynamic role involves supporting project teams in various construction services, managing a wide range of complex infrastructure projects, and mentoring field staff to ensure timely project completion.
We seek a candidate with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors. The projects you'll be involved in will make a significant and positive impact on the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and the public to support ongoing and new projects.
- Provide mentorship in the field and offer constructability input to design teams.
- Partner with leadership on marketing and business development efforts.
- Define project scope, develop management and QA/QC plans, and ensure project readiness.
- Coordinate with stakeholders through meetings, emails, and documentation.
- Lead or perform construction and survey layout staking.
- Ensure project deliverables are met, conduct quality reviews, and manage closeout processes.
- Monitor budgets and review invoices for accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering or related degree preferred
- 10 years of relevant work experience with survey equipment for data collection, layout and with construction related services.
- PMP certified, with PE in Iowa preferred
- Strong initiative to complete projects on time.
- Proven skills in empathetic communication, crucial conversations and effective mentoring of team.
- Ability to excel independently and within a team-based environment.
- GIS, CADD and various proprietary and commercially available software experience required
- Survey equipment and various field-testing equipment experience required.
