Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Technical Support Scientist to join our team and play a vital role in providing expert technical support for our analytical instrumentation. Your responsibilities will include assisting with demonstrations, conducting installations, and training customers on product usage. Provide technical support during demonstrations and sales calls. Perform installations as needed and manage the regional demonstration equipment. Provide training to customers and regional personnel on instrument usage. Develop application notes and run customer samples to showcase capabilities. Work closely with customers to adapt their methodologies for our products. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related life science field. Minimum of one year of laboratory experience with analytical instrumentation. Prior experience with HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) and GC (gas chromatography) is highly valued. Strong communication and customer relations skills. Willingness to travel, with a valid driver’s license. At Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, we believe in providing structured career paths that recognize and reward talent. This exempt, full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $90,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days (or state sick leave in California/Puerto Rico), 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you'll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Additional variable compensation includes an 8% incentive plan based on performance goals, paid semi-annually in April and October, along with a potential discretionary year-end bonus. The offer also includes a company car (with a $55 deduction for personal use) and a company phone, fully funded by the employer, which remains company property but can be used for personal calls.
