About The Client
We are hiring on behalf of a nationally recognized civil and facilities engineering firm, seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary building design projects across the public infrastructure, transit, and education sectors.
Job Summary
We’re seeking a seasoned Mechanical Project Manager with over 12 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing systems design. The role includes managing end-to-end mechanical engineering projects—from planning and budgeting to coordination, QA/QC, and client communication—while mentoring junior staff and ensuring adherence to codes and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical and plumbing system design (HVAC, sanitary piping, ducting)
Conduct HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, and field investigations
Perform code reviews and interact with permitting/code authorities
Oversee junior engineers, provide QA/QC on all mechanical documentation
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource planning
Prepare proposals, change orders, and project management documentation
Participate in client meetings and lead presentations
Guide multi-disciplinary teams and external subconsultants
Monitor billing, invoicing, and project deliverables
Ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery across all assigned projects
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET Accredited)
12+ years of experience in mechanical design, HVAC, and plumbing systems
Professional Engineer (PE) License or EIT with plan to obtain PE within 6–12 months
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, IESVE, and MS Office Suite
Strong knowledge of mechanical, energy, and building codes
Effective communicator with strong leadership and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Commissioning certifications (CxA, BCxP)
PMP or CAPM certification
Experience in government/public sector projects
Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or P3 delivery models
