Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Munster, Indiana (zip 46321) – Indiana nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (CV IMCU)
• Assignment Length: 8-week travel contract (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 1/26/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880 - $2020
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Cardiovascular Intermediate Care nursing experience (first-time travelers considered with 3+ years of experience)
• Active Indiana RN license or compact nursing license
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Must pass onsite EKG exam (study guides provided)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Omnicell experience required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Maximum 5 days of requested time off per contract; no time off allowed during Christmas week (12/21–12/27)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions (CHF, COPD, MI, angina, arrhythmias, post-surgical CV, trachs, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, renal failure, and more)
• Administer blood products, cardiac drips (no titration), and vasoactive drips
• Perform central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, wound care, and tracheostomy care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and provide telemetry monitoring (unit and remote)
• Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and oxygen therapy (high-flow nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)
• Float to other units (IMCU, Med/Surg, ICU) as needed based on census and acuity
• Complete required modules and orientation (up to 26 hours)
