Job Description
Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Staff Nurse in the Behavioral Health Unit, providing essential nursing care while focusing on family-centered practices. This full-time, onsite position requires dedicated professionals ready to make a significant impact in pediatric care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care
Provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients
Perform leadership and professional duties
Conduct patient-centered care duties
Engage in quality improvement and safety duties
Participate in education development for staff members
Support provider staff and promote collaboration for quality care
Perform informatics and technology duties
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or must obtain within 5 years
Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Experience working with various levels within an organization
Experience in Microsoft Office or similar software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare
Experience working with an electronic medical record system (e.g., EPIC)
