Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician to ensure the efficiency of our outside plant facilities. You'll engage in various tasks, including placing and maintaining cables and poles, and operating equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of service for America's fastest and most reliable network.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block and house cables, poles, and associated hardware/fixtures
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, building or poles
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles of varying gross weights to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree
2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
