Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or intermediate care unit
• Strong time management and clinical communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Demonstrated commitment to compassionate patient care and safety

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor, assess, and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR system
• Float to other clinical areas within the facility as needed
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Adhere to unit policies, guidelines, and management direction
