Raytheon is seeking an early career Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department. In this full-time role, you will engage in all phases of product lifecycle, from design to qualification testing, and collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to develop innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed structural analyses for all program phases
Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance
Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads
Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews
Present results to stakeholders and customers
Generate detailed technical reports
Travel to test sites to support tests or design discussions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
Experience with structural analysis tools (PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of mechanical principles for structural engineering problems
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
5+ years of experience in structural analysis of complex systems
Experience in structural testing: planning, organization, execution, data reduction and correlation
Experience with dynamic shock and vibration analysis
Experience with solid modeling CAD tools like CREO
Experience with Matlab
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience presenting to external customers
