Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant, where you will provide essential support in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Your role will involve patient intake, assisting with procedures, maintaining compliance with health standards, and ensuring excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens for routing
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments as necessary
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures as needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Professional communication with doctors and patients
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
