Job Description

Join Cargill as a Certified Electrician in Schuyler, NE, and help build a sustainable future while working with a dedicated team. This full-time role involves installing and maintaining electrical equipment, ensuring safety, and providing high-quality food products to a global customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment or components
  • Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance
  • Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications
  • Work with voltage levels up to 480, 4160; wire Variable Frequency Drives
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals to determine installation procedures
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for defects
  • Advise management on equipment safety hazards
  • Maintain equipment logs for performance problems and repairs
  • Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use and analyze malfunctions
  • Repair, install, and adjust equipment and components as needed
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts
  • Troubleshoot problems as required
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere

Required Qualifications

  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and retrieval
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and mathematical knowledge for such work
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Willingness to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Ability to work in an outdoor and indoor plant environment
  • Very good time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to install conduit and pull wire
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Adequate transportation
  • Ability to use multiple tools such as multi-meters and safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude to work from various blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
