Job Description
Join Optum as a Senior Patient Care Coordinator to improve health outcomes through exceptional customer service and teamwork in a dynamic medical setting. You will support a team of surgeons, manage patient interactions, and ensure efficient office operations, all while contributing to health equity on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Provide front and back-office support in a float Patient Care Coordinator/Scheduler role
Answer phone calls from multiple queues
Process prior authorization requests
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
Intake and update patient demographic information
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments
Submit specialists referrals
Handle customer service inquiries
Prepare exam rooms for patients
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
3+ years of customer service experience
1+ years of medical front office or surgery scheduling experience
1+ years of basic computer software experience
1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant (MA-R or MA-C)
Preferred Qualifications
Surgery scheduling experience
EPIC experience
Prior authorization experience
