Job Description

Join Lincoln Electric as a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Machine Division's production and new product development. You'll lead projects aimed at continuous improvement, focusing on safety, quality, and operational performance, while managing torque tools and fastening strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage substantial portions of project work and day-to-day shop support with little to no supervision
  • Lead projects both within the department and cross-functionally
  • Direct the work of techs, college students or other engineers
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement activities
  • Develop torque curves for assembly operations
  • Integrate torque tools and assembly instructions into MES
  • Resolve safety, environmental, and ergonomics issues
  • Conduct process improvements and optimization
  • Perform cost analysis and reductions, capacity studies
  • Evaluate and implement employee suggestions
  • Develop and implement new processes
  • Lead Six Sigma projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide shop support and quality improvements
  • Develop processes for and launch new products

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience in related field
  • Experience developing torque and fastening strategies
  • Understanding of and experience with MES
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, tools and materials
  • Good judgment and well organized
  • Commitment to cost savings and process improvements
  • Ability to research, analyze and justify financial purchases
  • Understanding of six sigma tools and statistical process control
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally
  • Proficient in MS Office, CAD software, and ability to learn SAP
  • Experience in project management and ownership
  • Ability to perform hands-on work
  • Ability to occasionally work off shifts
