Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Interprets and enters physicians orders in computer
Fills medication orders and aseptically compounds IV solutions and cytotoxic agents
Monitors drug therapy for contraindications and dosing errors
Provides drug information to medical and nursing personnel as required
Issues control-led substances to patient care areas and maintains records
Participates in the Quality Improvement activities of the department
Counsels patients on the proper use, side effects, and storage of medication
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Currently licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of New Jersey or eligible for licensure by examination or reciprocity
Preferred Qualifications
An ASHP residency or equivalent hospital pharmacy work experience
Pharmacy computer experience
