Job Description

Join Stratton Mountain as a Child Care Lead Teacher, where you'll create a nurturing environment for young children while fostering their development and learning. This full-time role offers a chance to make a significant impact on children's lives in a fun and engaging resort setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
  • Create a welcoming and engaging classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children's development
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
  • Follow state child care regulations and policies
  • Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse or neglect
  • Greet and interact with parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with the Childcare Supervisor and Manager
  • Lead parent-teacher meetings biannually
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate or Vermont Career Ladder III
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a childcare setting
  • Must meet Vermont state qualifications for Lead Teacher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • 21 College credits in a related field
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire)
