Job Description

Join the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy as the Assistant Director of Communications. In this role, you'll develop public relations strategies and promote a positive image for the University while collaborating with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop publicity and earned media strategies for the University
  • Create and implement a PR plan, including pitches and budgets
  • Lead and implement crisis communication strategy
  • Provide media training to University leadership and staff
  • Analyze media coverage and provide reports as needed
  • Collaborate on official communications for the Office of the President
  • Develop communications for internal University audiences
  • Support content creation for various communications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications or similar field
  • 6+ years of experience leading communications or public relations projects
  • Extensive experience dealing with media contacts and community partners
  • Experience managing and communicating during crisis incidents
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to understand information systems across University functions
  • Strategic and tactical thinking skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
