Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN will assist in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality care throughout all phases — pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure. This role requires strong clinical judgment, procedural knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic and gastroenterology procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies according to established protocols.
- Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures; monitor vital signs and sedation levels.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician and per facility policy.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, bronchoscopy, etc.).
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide patient and family education regarding pre- and post-procedure care.
- Maintain a safe, sterile environment and adhere to infection control standards.
- Participate in emergency responses and assist with airway management if necessary.
Requirements: - Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Endoscopy or GI Lab RN
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of assignment (Compact license accepted).
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN).
- Skills: Knowledge of moderate sedation, sterile technique, and endoscopic equipment operation.
