Job Description

Join Boeing as a Senior Electrophysics/Electromagnetics Engineer - Scientist, where you'll lead innovative projects within the Defense, Space & Security sector. This role focuses on developing and validating electromagnetic requirements, managing compliance, and supporting products throughout their lifecycle, all while working in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate EMC and EMI requirements for various systems
  • Develop architectures to integrate components into higher-level systems
  • Perform E3 program planning and author E3 support documentation
  • Conduct trade studies and modeling for design optimization
  • Manage assignments within budget and schedule
  • Define and conduct tests to validate designs
  • Oversee supplier electromagnetic testing for compliance
  • Support products throughout their lifecycle with engineering solutions
  • Provide project management support and report project status
  • Write proposals to support new business development
  • Provide general mentorship

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 9+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years with a Master's or 3+ years with a PhD (Level 4)
  • 14+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 12+ years with a Master's or 9+ years with a PhD (Level 5)
  • Experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics
  • Experience with aircraft electromagnetic standards: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-160
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or FCC part 15
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military
  • Experience performing computational electromagnetic analysis (FEKO, Cosite, ANSYS, CST)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading a team of engineers
  • Experience with lightning testing and analysis
  • Certification as TEMPEST Professional (CTP-I or CTP-II)
