Key Responsibilities
Perform and teach medical and surgical duties
Mentor and instruct trainees in HQHVSN techniques
Ensure adherence to ASNA’s standard of care
Participate in program development and training material creation
Manage surgical and training team performance
Provide safe and compassionate care for animals
Engage in professional development and organizational support
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
Valid NC veterinarian license or ability to obtain within 60 days
Passing of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
Minimum 1 year as a veterinarian in a clinical setting including soft tissue surgery experience
Ability to perform 35 spay/neuter surgeries in a normal workday
Preferred Qualifications
1 year medical team leadership experience
1 year as a HQHVSN veterinarian
1 year in a teaching or coaching environment
Fear Free Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
