The Oncology Clinical Trial Research Nurse Manager oversees operational aspects of clinical trials, ensuring compliance and participant safety. This role requires strong leadership to manage staff and budgets, develop protocols, and foster teamwork across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operations of research units at multiple locations
Ensure compliance with KP HealthPlan and governmental agencies
Prepare for audits and inspections
Collaborate with PI and Sponsor in establishing clinical trials
Develop budgets and evaluate potential protocols
Mentor and support research staff
Recruit and hire new clinical research staff
Manage staff, budget, resource allocation, and performance assessments
Required Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic or similar health care setting
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, clinic or similar setting
Diploma from an accredited nursing school
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
Registered Nurse License (California)
Basic Life Support certification
Experience in outpatient and/or inpatient clinical environment
Knowledge of clinical trial regulatory and data submission requirements
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum three (3) years of clinical trials research experience
Minimum four (4) years of effective project management, analytical problem solving and negotiating experience
