Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Day 3x12.0

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Core Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

  • Embrace the principles of high-quality care, focusing on patient and employee safety.
  • Promote a safety-focused environment centered around patient handling, materials handling, and infection control.
  • Follow all established guidelines related to personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, utilizing the data to create individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Be accountable for accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned units, focusing on the education of patients and their families.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, employing problem-solving techniques in decision-making.
  • Maintain effective communication with management regarding supply needs and clinical training requirements.
  • Contribute positively to the work environment, embracing team building and organizational efficiency.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and pursue ongoing education.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
