Key Responsibilities
Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for malignant or abnormal conditions
Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures
Ensure proper documentation of workload recording as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines
Maintain integrity in the performance and reporting of results
Finalize testing results into the computer accurately and timely
Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed
Comply with all safety, infection control and HIPAA policies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university
Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program
ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification
Florida Cytotechnologist license
Must pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in Cytology
ThinPrep and SurePath certifications
Automated and non-automated testing experience
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
