Key Responsibilities
Creating an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
Establishing a classroom climate based on mutual respect and clear expectations
Implementing school-wide and classroom-specific PBIS strategies
Tracking and documenting student progress
Delivering differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals
Adapting curricular content to accommodate diverse learning styles
Utilizing varied instructional methods and resources
Managing student caseload responsibilities including IEPs
Preparing detailed daily lesson plans
Maintaining an organized and safe classroom environment
Staying informed on current research-based instructional practices
Supporting the school community by performing additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study
Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state special education credential
Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in a classroom setting
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance
Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's)
Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency
Knowledge of relevant technology including instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite
