Job Description

Join ChanceLight as a Special Education Teacher and empower students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative and dynamic environment. You'll lead the instructional process, develop personalized learning experiences, and positively impact the lives of students through tailored education plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Establishing a classroom climate based on mutual respect and clear expectations
  • Implementing school-wide and classroom-specific PBIS strategies
  • Tracking and documenting student progress
  • Delivering differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals
  • Adapting curricular content to accommodate diverse learning styles
  • Utilizing varied instructional methods and resources
  • Managing student caseload responsibilities including IEPs
  • Preparing detailed daily lesson plans
  • Maintaining an organized and safe classroom environment
  • Staying informed on current research-based instructional practices
  • Supporting the school community by performing additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study
  • Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state special education credential
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in a classroom setting
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance
  • Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's)
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency
  • Knowledge of relevant technology including instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite
