The Material Management Specialist at Monmouth Medical Center is responsible for managing procurement activities and ensuring effective inventory management. This role serves as the primary contact for vendors and oversees resolution of performance issues while maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Arrange with vendors for the replacement of defective items
Assist with special projects as assigned
Conduct vendor interviews to audit vendor performance
Consult with technical areas regarding specifications and quantities of procured items
Contribute to cost containment and product standardization
Ensure timely procurement of supplies, equipment, and services
Monitor and adjust inventory levels
Provide sourcing support for new and existing products
Reconcile invoices with Accounts Payables
Report system failures to relevant departments
Manage budget tracking and reporting
Review open purchase orders for overdue shipments
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three to five years Emergency Services/Materials management experience
Three to five years purchasing, data collection and reporting experience
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS degree
